Designed for high school students enrolled in AP Physics, these courses provide a deeper understanding of the material covered in class while preparing students for success on the AP Physics exam. The AP curriculum is challenging and fast-paced, requiring students to master a wide range of concepts and problem-solving techniques. These courses reinforce classroom instruction by presenting the material from a different perspective, strengthening conceptual understanding, and providing extensive practice with AP-style problems.

Quantum Mechanics

Quantum mechanics is one of the most important and fascinating subjects in all of science. This course is designed for advanced high school students, college students, and adult learners who want a clear and accessible introduction to quantum mechanics. Through simple explanations, visual examples, and carefully selected problems, students will develop a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of the quantum world.

Few instructors possess both extensive teaching experience and advanced research experience in quantum mechanics. I have completed more than twelve semester-long courses in quantum mechanics, taught quantum mechanics at Florida State University, and conducted research involving quantum mechanics and superconducting electronics at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and NIST.

Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity

Einstein's theory of relativity revolutionized our understanding of space, time, matter, and energy. Yet despite its importance, relativity is often given only brief coverage in traditional physics courses.

This course provides a clear and intuitive introduction to special relativity using only basic algebra and logical reasoning. Students will learn how motion affects measurements of space and time while exploring some of the most surprising and beautiful ideas in modern physics.
